Belton Cheese Ltd

Although not based in the West Country, Belton Cheese share our passion for making the finest Farmhouse cheeses. They were one of the original members of the Farmhouse Cheesemakers Ltd. Cheese has been made by hand at Belton for more than 150 years and they now produce several traditional English varieties, all of them wonderful additions to the West Country range.

In the early 1920s my Grandfather, Stanley Beckett, left the family textile business in Manchester to work at Belton as a farm student, before taking on the tenancy and eventually buying the farm. John Beckett, his son and my father, has farmed Belton since 1970 when Traditional Farmhouse Cheshire cheese was made at one end of the farmhouse from milk produced on the farm.

Today, me and my highly professional team carry on the tradition of excellence in cheesemaking to produce a range of prize-winning English Territorial cheeses which we sell to the discerning market at home and abroad, with customers as far afield as Canada, USA, Australia, Europe and elsewhere.
