The Devon sea breeze which rustles the grass of Parkham's fields is just one of the magic ingredients which goes into producing their medal winning rich and creamy Cheddar.
Parkham Farms is situated close to the sea on the North Devon Coast where the Willes family make Farmhouse Cheddar cheese with milk from our own cows, together with some milk from neighbouring farms.
The cheese is made by hand using a traditional recipe and a real attention to detail, producing cheese with a distinctive flavour and texture - smooth and creamy with a lingering savoury finish - which could not be achieved through mass production.
All the farms, including our own, have to meet the standards required to pass the National Dairy Farm Assured Scheme to ensure that the welfare of the cows and the hygiene of the milking facilities are of the highest standard.
